(VOVworld) - Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirate (UAE) Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan agreed on Saturday to establish a bilateral political consultation mechanism to deepen mutual cooperation. In an official announcement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the decision was made following an Abu Dhabi meeting that witnessed talks about ongoing regional developments and international conflicts of common interest. The meetings are scheduled to be held every six months.

The two officials affirmed to continue bilateral cooperation in different fields and stressed their consensus on political solutions for crises in several regional countries, including Yemen, Syria, and Libya.
The two sides called for joint efforts to bolster Arab unity to combat terrorism and extremism.
