(VOVWORLD) - Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will pay an official visit to Vietnam in September, the Egyptian president's office announced in a statement on Monday.

This will be the first visit by an Egyptian President to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1963. President El-Sisi will hold talks with President Tran Dai Quang and meet General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong. The visit is intended to boost relations between Vietnam and Egypt in all fields.
As part of his Asian tour, President El-Sisi will visit China this weekend and attend the BRICS summit of 5 emerging national economies - Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The Egyptian delegation led by President El-Sisi will include the Minister of Electricity, the Minister of Transportation, the Minister of Military Production, the Minister of Trade and Industry, the Minister of Cooperation and Investment, and the Manager of the Suez Canal.
