Egypt’s former President sentenced 20-year imprisonment
(VOVworld) – The Egyptian Court of Appeal has upheld a 20 year imprisonment sentence against former President Mohamed Morsi for his role in the killing of protesters in 2012.

On May 17, Mr. Morsi and 106 supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood
organizations were sentenced to death for a jailbreak during the 2011
uprising against former President Hosni Mubarak. He and 7 other figures
of the Muslim Brotherhood were also sentenced to life imprisonment for
the charges of attempting to do harm to Egypt’s national security
together with the Hamas and Hezbollah movements. On June 18, Cairo’s
Criminal Court sentenced Morsi to life imprisonment for leaking secrets to Qatar.
