Upon addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Manh Quyen, vice chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, emphasized that over the past 14 years the fair has served as an effective bridge in strengthening trade exchanges in the field of energy and the environment.

Furthermore, it has helped the business community to gain access to cutting-edge technologies with high knowledge content, a factor which has contributed to saving energy, reducing environmental pollution and input costs, whilst simultaneously accelerating the technological transfer, Quyen noted.

The three-day event attracted the participation of 175 businesses from many countries and territories around the globe, of which 65% are foreign firms.

A number of workshops relating to energy saving and environmental protection solutions are set to be held as part of the occasion. The Ministry of Science and Technology has collaborated with relevant agencies to host the "Energy and Environment Technology Forum 2023."
