Ethnic minorities hopeful of National Party Congress

(VOVWORLD) - People in Dak Lak province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands have faith that the policies adopted at the upcoming National Party Congress will improve their lives.

H’Yam Bkrong, Director of the Jong Bong Brocade Textile Cooperative in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province, said, "My staff and I hope the policy makers will create policies that favor the traditional crafts of the Ede ethnic group, generate more jobs, and help to preserve our ethnic identity."

H Giang Nie, Secretary of the Dak Lak Youth Union, said she hopes the upcoming Party Congress will pay more attention to ethnic minority youth and young people in border and mountain areas. She said she hopes the Congress will create policies which increase young people’s creativity involvement in socio-economic development policy making.

"We particularly want to be involved in the economic development of our villages. I also hope that ethnic minority cadres will receive additional training, which will help us perform our tasks," she said.
