(VOVworld) - The European Union member states on Tuesday accepted Bosnia-Herzegovina’s membership application, a first step toward eventually give it a place in the bloc.

The EU said it has asked the European Commission for an assessment of Bosnia-Herzegovina's readiness. The Commission will outline what conditions Bosnia will need to meet before being given full membership. There is no time limit for the process. The EU has called on Bosnia to continue socio-economic reforms and reforms in the area of law and public administration.
