Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said that Israel’s recent actions, including announcing new settlements in the occupied West Bank, didn’t help create trust and cooperative atmosphere for the success of the peace negotiations. Ashton condemned the recent retaliatory attacks between the two sides, and called for an immediate end to all acts of violence. She expressed her worry about the Israel’s confiscation of EU humanitarian aids to Palestinian people.
