In Jenin, an Israeli military operation, involving the largest-scale airstrikes on the city in decades, left at least ten Palestinians dead and dozens injured. The EU condemned all attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians.
The EU has consistently reiterated its fundamental commitment to Israel’s security and its opposition to terrorism in all its forms. It called for strengthening the Palestinian Authority and asked Israel to respect its obligations under international agreements. The EU also asked the Palestinian Authority to continue security coordination with Israel.
On Wednesday the Israeli military announced the end of its biggest military operation in the West Bank in years. According to an Israeli Army spokesman, soldiers have left the town of Jenin in the West Bank after arresting 30 people and confiscating weapons and funds intended for terrorist activities.
