EU considers lowering gas price ceiling
(VOVWORLD) - European Union states are considering a proposal to set gas price limits lower than suggested so far.

EU energy ministers will meet Monday to vote on the measure.
After months of negotiation and two emergency ministers meetings to discuss a ceiling, countries have still not reached a consensus on the issue and are at odds over whether it will alleviate or worsen the energy crisis.
The issue is becoming urgent as Europe enters the cold winter months with reduced gas supplies from Russia because of the conflict in Ukraine.
Fuel prices in Europe remain high and households and businesses could face power outages or find themselves unable to pay their energy bills.
