EU leaders vow to fight terrorism at summit
(VOVworld) - European Union leaders on Friday vowed an “uncompromising fight against terrorism” and called for wide-ranging countermeasures ranging from beefed-up immigration controls to a crackdown on illicit weapons-trafficking.

At the bloc’s year-end summit, they also debated the survival of Britain as a EU member state. European Council Chairman Donald Tusk told the press following the summit that 28 EE countries stressed the importance of enhancing information exchange and improving coordination among EU intelligence agencies. He added that EU will promptly promote cooperation with its partners in North Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, and West Balkan countries in the fight against terrorism.
