EU wants reforms from new Ukraine government within 100 days

During his visit to Ukraine, Hahn said this includes tackling corruption by installing a new general prosecutor and sticking to an International Monetary Fund assistance program rather than trying to renegotiate it. Hahn urged President Petro Poroshenko to appoint an independent and reform-minded general prosecutor. General Prosecutor is one of the most powerful posts in Ukraine.

Former General Prosecutor Shokin resigned in March before Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk resigned in April. After that the Ukrainian Parliament approved the appointment of Prime Minister Volodymyr Grioysman. Mr. Shokin was accused of blocking investigations into top officials who served President Viktor Yanukovich.
