(VOVworld) – Senior EU officials have formally discussed a possible Greek debt default and exit from the euro zone for the first time if it fails to reach a debt deal with its creditors.

AFP news agency quoted an official on condition of anonymity as saying that during talks in Bratislava, Slovakia, the officials discussed the possibility of a Greek debt default in order to prepare for the worst case.
European Commission vice-president for the euro Valdis Dombrovskis said eurozone members want a good preparation for all possibilities. Lithuania's Finance Minister Rimantas Sadzius said that it’s necessary to evaluate all possibilities. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said Athens sent a high-level delegation to Brussels, Belgium, on Saturday to make proposals for a disbursement deal.
