(VOVWORLD) -The EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) will work with the Vietnamese Government to promote economic cooperation priorities and encourage the European business community to increase their investment in Vietnam, said Jens Ruebbert, EU-ABC Vice Chairman.

Ruebbert, who is leading a delegation of businesses and groups on a Hanoi visit, on Wednesday met Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, who said the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), after more than two years of implementation, has created a strong impetus for trade and promoted EU businesses to expand investment in Vietnam. Currently, the EU is Vietnam's fifth largest trade and investment partner.
Applauding the support of the EU and its member countries for Vietnam’s socio-economic development, Minister Son said Vietnam values the comprehensive cooperative partnership with the EU. He suggested that the EU-ABC and EuroCham prioritize cooperation in such fields as climate change response, energy transition, circular economy, transportation, and aviation and encourage European businesses to invest in Vietnam’s green growth.
