A highlight is the exhibition “The August Revolution – A historic landmark” introducing 100 documents, photos, and items about the General Uprising in August, 1945. The festivities also include the ceremony to announce the National Day on September 2, 1945 at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi and the exhibitions "Building and consolidation of the people's democratic government in 1945-1946" and "Firmly defending the achievements of the August Revolution toward glory".
The Ho Chi Minh Museum in Thua Thien-Hue province and the provincial Department of Culture and Sports organized an exhibition displaying 200 documents and items about the August Revolution in Thua Thien-Hue.
The exhibition recreates the revolutionary uprising 77 years ago, and portrays the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh leading the people, especially during the two historic events of King Bao Dai abdication at Ngo Mon Gate in Thua Thien-Hue and President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence in Ba Dinh Square.
The exhibition will also introduce a collection of rudimentary weapons that people in Thua Thien-Hue used in the General Uprising. It runs until the end of December.
