As part of the second Ly Son culture and tourism week, the exhibition is displaying 100 photos and 100 items to bring to visitors the island’s history and current development as well as its spiritual festivals and scenic landscapes. On display were a series of documents and maps that prove Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos. Visitor Nguyen Van Tien from Dong Ha City, Quang Tri province shares his impression: “I am impressed with photos and objects on display about Ly Son island as they fully show its people, scenic spaces, history and culture. Local people are so friendly that we should visit them at least once.”

Historian Duong Trung Quoc spoke at the exhibition: “Ly Son Island is famous for its role as a frontline marine guardian of the nation. Especially, it was the departure place of the Hoang Sa Flotilla who affirm national territory and exploit marine resources for livelihoods in sacred missions.”
