(VOVWORLD) - SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 opened on Thursday at the National Innovation Center in Hanoi with the theme “Elevating Vietnam in the Global Semiconductor Supply Chain.”
The 2-day event is the first international-scale semiconductor exhibition ever held in Vietnam, involving 5,000 delegates and 100 booths from major players in the semiconductor field like Cadence, Qualcomm, Intel, Qorvo, Dassault, Siemens, Tektronix, FPT, and Viettel, as well as research institutes, universities, investment funds, and associations.

In his opening remarks, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung called the event a significant milestone in Vietnam's efforts to integrate into the global value chain of the semiconductor industry.
“Vietnam now has the necessary conditions to collaborate with investors from around the world in the semiconductor industry. Vietnam enjoys political stability and a strong commitment from the highest levels of leadership in the Party and State to promoting innovation and developing advanced industries. Vietnam stands at a pivotal moment in its transition to a digital, green, and circular economy. Vietnam looks to science, technology, and innovation for strategic breakthroughs to enable rapid and sustainable development, with the semiconductor industry playing an essential role in this vision,” Dung said.

SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 will include seminars and activities to connect Vietnam with the global semiconductor community.
