Hosts flexed their muscle by pressurizing their visitors on their own turf and scoring a goal before Thai Thi Thao earned an equalizer for Vietnam in the first half.
RoK women continued to take control the game, but it was Vietnamese women who made history in the second half.
Coach Mai Duc Chung made several substitutions and changed the tactic that proved effective. Capital Huynh Nhu and striker Hai Yen scored one each, extending Vietnam’s lead.

This is Vietnamese women’s first win over their RoK opponents since 2010.
In another friendly match on Saturday, hosts RoK stunned their Vietnamese visitors 3-0.
The Vietnamese players who are training in the Republic of Korea ahead of the coming 31st Southeast Asian games are scheduled to have two more friendlies with opponents from Uiduk University and Gyeongju KHNP club.
