Dak Lak provincial People’s Committee told a press conference on Friday that the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival will have 18 major events, including a video-making contest to popularize Buon Ma Thuot coffee, a musical performance, a festival of light, a contest to make fine art products from coffee trees, a street festival, free of charge coffee street, and a coffee expo.
The street festival will not have an elephant parade, showing Dak Lak's strong commitment to respecting and protecting the elephants.
Tran Duc Nhat, Vice Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot City People’s Committee, said Phan Dinh Giot street will become a free of charge coffee street.
“On Phan Dinh Giot street, we have worked with Trung Nguyen Group, Simexco September 2, and An Thai Coffee Company to co-organize activities throughout five days of the festival. Besides enjoying free coffee, people can participate in talkshows, cultural and artistic activities, and discussions about Buon Ma Thuot coffee,” he said.
On Friday the Organizing Board awarded seven prizes to individuals and groups for winning the video clip contest promoting Buon Ma Thuot Coffee.
