(VOVworld) – Less than two hours after the Syrian army declared the end of a week-long truce, fierce airstrikes hit rebel-held neighborhoods of Aleppo.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the raids caused some casualties but did not identify who carried them out, Syrian or Russian warplanes.
Earlier the same day, the Syrian military said the truce was over and accused insurgent forces of violating the ceasefire 300 times.
The Syria truce brokered by US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov took effect last Monday, calling for a ceasefire across Syria to permit humanitarian aid to reach Aleppo, especially the eastern rebel-held half of the divided city.
