(VOVworld) - Film screenings to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2) began Wednesday in Hanoi. The films feature President Ho Chi Minh and the traditional revolution. At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Cultural, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai said they will be screened in many cities and provinces nationwide: “The screenings highlight Vietnam’s history and revolution, President Ho Chi Minh, and outstanding individuals during the struggles for national liberation. The films raise public understanding about the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and 70 years of construction and defense”.

Two films “The Prophet” and “Kim Dong” (Young hero Kim Dong) were screened on the opening ceremony.
