The final round has a total of 64 matches with the opening match taking place at 11pm Sunday (Vietnam time) between hosts Qatar and Ecuador.

This World Cup is considered the most luxurious tournament in history when the host country Qatar has to spend a record sum of 200 billion USD, much more than the total costs of all previous World Cups. This is the first World Cup held in the winter and has the shortest playing time in history (29 days from November 20 to December 18).
