(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam-ASEAN Friendship Organization, and ASEAN ambassadors to Vietnam co-hosted a program entitled “For a united, developed ASEAN community” in Hanoi on Thursday to mark the 48^th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and 20^th anniversary of Vietnam’s ASEAN membership.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc told the participants that the establishment of ASEAN community late this year will serve center on the people. The governments of Vietnam and other countries have increased communications to increase public awareness and participation in building an ASEAN. People-to-people exchanges have reinforced solidarity and cooperation among ASEAN countries. Mr. Phuc presented awards to ASEAN organizations and individuals for their outstanding contributions to building the ASEAN community.
