(VOVWORLD) - 400 people, including Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Nguyen Tat Thanh, member of the New South Wales Legislative Council Scott Farlow, and Australian businesses, overseas Vietnamese attended a warm reception in Sydney on Friday to celebrate the 77th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
During the reception hosted by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney, delegates learned about Vietnam's landmarks and Vietnam Airlines routes from Australia to Vietnam. Mr. Farlow said Vietnam is considered as a key market of New South Wales, adding that he wants to contribute to the development of Vietnam.
At a ceremony in Tokyo, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam briefed participants about the birth of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, its achievements in the past 77 years, and highlighted milestones in the relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
The Japanese side sent greetings to the Party, State and people of Vietnam, hailed Vietnam’s development as having great significance to the peace, stability and prosperity of the region and the world. Leaders of Vietnam and Japan always value and promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, the delegates added.
In a congratulatory message to the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said he wants to strengthen the friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Palestine and that he highly appreciates Vietnam's stance in supporting the Palestinian people and the righteous struggle for independence and freedom.
Vietnamese leaders also received congratulatory messages from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman; and the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, according to media of the Middle East.
