Foreign Ministry spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi commented on the situation in Syria and the US-Russian agreement on Syrian chemical weapons. Nghi said: “Vietnam’s position on the issue of chemical weapons has been clearly defined. We strongly condemn the use of chemical weapons and stressed the necessity to comply with International Law regarding chemical weapons. Vietnam acclaims the sweeping agreement reached between the US and Russia on September 14^th, calling for Syria’s arsenal of chemical weapons to be removed or destroyed. Vietnam hopes that this agreement will soon be implemented, contributing to resolving the crisis in Syria, bringing peace and security to the Syrian people.”
