(VOVWORLD) -President Tran Dai Quang on Thursday conferred a 70-year Party Membership Medal to former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh.
This is in recognition of Ms. Binh’s contribution to national liberation, unification, construction and defense. President Quang praised the former Vice President for promoting the strong will of a communist, showing absolute loyalty to the Party, Fatherland, and people, and wholeheartedly serving the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, and successfully accomplishing tasks to deserve the trust by the Party, State, and people.
Former Vice President Binh was born in a family of patriotic tradition. In 1944, at the age of 17, she led the movements of pupils, students, and women and a movement of intellectuals to fight for peace. In 1947, she was admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party, now the Communist Party of Vietnam. Ms. Binh was assigned numerous important positions by the Party and State.
