This is part of an action plan aimed to create an active Francophone community, helping to fulfill the sustainable human development target.
Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said the International Francophone Organization (IOF) will have an opportunity to receive useful advice from Asian-Pacific delegates on how to establish a Francophone economic strategy: "I hope the participants can come up with specific ideas to better develop the establishment of a Francophone economic strategy and boost economic cooperation among the Francophone community. I also expect detailed proposals from Pacific-Asia delegates to help complete the economic strategy comprehensively."
IOF Asia-Pacific Office Director Annisa Barak said the Francophone economic strategy could promote a comprehensive and diverse development of the Francophone community amid globalization and a complex global economy. Barak also praised the contribution of the Asia-Pacific nations, especially Vietnam, in enhancing solidarity among Francophone countries.
The 2-day forum, coorganized by Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry and IOF, will also collect opinions from representatives of Francophone agencies and Vietnamese businesses.
