(VOVworld)- French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said in his public address on French policy toward Asia at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta on Friday that France wanted to build an organized multi-polar world, in which the EU and the ASEAN play stabilizing roles.

He revealed that he had proposed ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh two major focuses to strengthen the partnership between France, Europe and ASEAN. He said he supported a peaceful solution in regional disputes including the East Sea dispute. He said that it is not France’s place to arbitrate on territorial disputes between regional countries but hopes to help seek peaceful solutions in line with international law.  He said that France is encouraging the establishment of Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea by ASEAN and China.
