France’s foreign minister, Catherine Colonna on Friday said that the revocation of military pacts by the junta will have no effect on existing military deals.
Minister Colonna’s statement came a day after Niger’s junta revoked a raft of military cooperation agreements signed with France from 1977 to 2020. The juntas also suspended broadcasts of French state-funded international news outlets France 24 and RFI.
On Thursday, France announced that it has completed the evacuation of nearly 1,100 French and European citizens out of Niger.
