France wants to build trade ‘backbone’ from Europe to Beijing via Moscow
(VOVWORLD) -France is aiming to create a trade ‘backbone’ with Beijing via Russia amid increasing uncertainty in relations with the US.

French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire made the statement in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. He said France is moving from a world dominated by very exclusive transatlantic relations toward a rebalancing. Le Maire criticized the US for maintaining the threat of “extraterritorial sanctions”, which he said is contrary to France’s vision of a multilateral global organization.
French President Emmanuel Macron is set to metion the idea during his visit to China in January and at the World Economic Forum in St. Petersburg in May.
