Tourists are worried about becoming victims of extremists after a series of attacks in Nice in recent time. The tourism industry plays a key role in France’s economy. Foreign tourist arrivals fell by 10 percent in July compared to the same period last year. Only in the third week of July, after an attack killing 84 people in Nice, the number of tourist bookings to Nice, combining cancellations of previous bookings, dropped by 57 percent. Experts say violent demonstrations and robbery are also the reason behind the decline of foreign tourist arrivals.
