The social security budget is set to be cut back by 6.5 billion USD. Nearly 1,600 civil service jobs will be fired, a fraction of the 120,000 public jobs President Emmanuel wants to eliminate during his five-year term. He also wants to cut the corporation tax to 25 percent by 2022 from the current 33 percent. At the same time, the budgets of several ministries are set to rise in 2018.
