Gazprom announces indefinite shutdown of Nord Stream 1 pipeline
(VOVWORLD) -Russia’s energy group Gazprom said on Friday that the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which was expected to resume operation later this week, have completely stopped until a turbine is repaired. So the operation of a key gas supply pipeline to Western Europe is suspended indefinitely.

Gazprom on Tuesday announced a decision to stop operating the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline between 4 a.m. on Wednesday and 4 p.m. on Saturday, citing the need to repair the only gas turbine in operation. After the work is done with the experts from Siemens of Germany, the gas transportation will continue to be carried out according to the level of August if no technical problems of the engine are detected, it said.
