(VOVworld) – The German Federal Ministry of Defence affirmed Saturday that Germany will for the first time send its troops to Baltic states with each military unit for three months.

A total of 4,400 soldiers will participate in 17 NATO-US maneuvers in east NATO.

Battalion 411 with 700 soldiers and 44 Marder tanks will be deployed as part of the armed forces of Poland which borders Germany to the north.

Another 150 German ground troops will be sent to Latvia next Saturday for training and drill.
