(VOVworld) – German ministers are demanding a swift response from the US to allegations of spying by a suspected double agent recently arrested by German police. Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in a tweet on Sunday during a visit to Mongolia, following the arrest of a 31-year-old employee of Germany's BND foreign intelligence agency, that Germany will not easily forgive if the reports are true. He said the US ambassador to Germany was called in on Friday to hear the demand for an explanation and the "quickest possible clarification of the facts". The same day, German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said that Germany wants speedy clarification of the accusations, and quick and clear statements by the US.
