(VOVWORLD) - The 13th National Sports Festival for Ethnic Minorities, Zone II, will wrap up on Friday in Gia Lai province.

The 3-day competition has attracted 500 athletes from 13 provinces, competing in 7 games. This competition seeks to preserve traditional values and strengthen solidarity among ethnic minority groups.
Athlete Ro Cham Dac, team Gia Lai, said, “This is my fourth time participating in the National Ethnic Minority Sports Competition. I won 6 gold medals in previous competitions. I won a gold medal in the 100-meter race, and my goal is to win more medals in the 300-meter category to make my parents proud.”
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Lien Phuong, said, “The sports competition for ethnic minorities is organized in a joyful and jubilant atmosphere to develop the sports training movement and strengthen the solidarity of the community of ethnic groups.”
On Thursday morning, the Dak Lak team was leading with 277 points, followed by Gia Lai and Kon Tum.
