Global COVID-19 death toll increases
(VOVWORLD) - According to worldometers.info, as of Wednesday, the world had recorded 427.9 million coronavirus cases, and more than 5.9 million deaths.

The US remains the most severely affected country, followed by India and Brazil. Of the 10 countries with the most COVID-19 cases, seven are in Europe.
In the past 24 hours alone, more than 1.6 million new cases were reported, of which Germany had the most, followed by Russia and Brazil.
According to the WHO, Omicron is the dominant variant globally, accounting for more than 99% of new cases. The Delta variant accounts for less than 1%.
