Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is a guest at the annual meeting of leaders from Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.

At a meeting with Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, Mr. Trudeau said the complicated events in Russia over the last two days will form a large part of the meeting’s discussions.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who also met briefly with Trudeau, said the conflict between Russia and Ukraine was “the most important topic” for the leaders at the gathering.

The annual meeting of Nordic Prime Ministers on Sunday and Monday came just ahead of the annual NATO leaders' summit scheduled for mid-July in Lithuania to discuss the conflict in Ukraine as well as the enlargement of this military alliance.

Iceland currently holds the rotating presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
