(VOVWORLD) - The Youth Union and the Association of Former Vietnamese Youth Volunteers on Wednesday honored contributions and sacrifices of generations of young volunteers and promotes the tradition of "remembering the source of the water we drink."

The program marked the 55th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's attendance at the Emulation Congress of Youth Volunteer Teams in the resistance war against the US, January 12.
President of the Association of Former Vietnamese Youth Volunteers Vu Trong Kim said more efforts will be made to digitalize data of youth volunteers and historical sites relating to youth volunteers, proposing to the State to grand Glorious Youth Volunteer medal, and implementing social policies.
The two organizations will educate young people the revolutionary traditions and encourage them to voluntarily contribute to national construction and defense.
