Government discusses socio-economic development in January
(VOVWORLD) - The government is doing all it can to assure a safe, happy Tet for all citizens, said Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung at a press conference in Hanoi on Thursday to announce the outcomes of the first cabinet meeting of 2019.

Mr. Dung summarized socio-economic development in January which saw an additional 4 billion USD to the foreign reserves.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Hoang Vinh Bao said 53% of mobile phone service subscribers have switched networks but were able to keep their old number.
Mr. Bao said: “We have conducted weekly meetings to solve all pending issues and have asked mobile phone service providers to explain the switch process to all their subscribers. A hotline will be established to answer people’s questions.”
Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Cong Thanh says some agencies involved in container shipping haven’t taken the appropriate steps to reduce the time needed for customs clearance.
A working team has asked for new regulations on the quality of imported scrap to clearly identify post-inspection responsibility, Mr. Thanh said.
