The event was held by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at A1 National Martyrs’ Cemetery in Dien Bien province.
Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, said the achievements Vietnam has gained in national development are attributed largely to the soldiers who laid down their lives at the Dien Bien Phu battle.
“To repay the heroic martyrs, we need to unite to protect the permanent independence of Vietnam and develop the nation to a new level. All Vietnamese must be loyal to the nation,” said Most Venerable Quang.
