Green economy is a new model contributing to social security, environmental protection, and energy efficiency. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said this at a forum in Hanoi on Tuesday on green economy in the context of sustainable development in Vietnam. Nhan added that the strategy to develop green economy is essential in generating jobs, ensuring sustainable growth, reducing environmental pollution, and minimizing the effects of global warning and exhausted natural resources. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the need to formulate a favorable legal environment for developing such an economic development model in Vietnam . Delegates agreed that it’s necessary to move forward a green economy, and introduce international experiences in this field. They also pointed out challenges and suggested solutions for Vietnam to build a green economy in line with sustainable development.
