(VOVworld)- The Central Institute for Economic Management and the German International Cooperation Organization GIZ today/Wednesday held a workshop on restructuring Vietnam’s policies and encouraging green growth. The delegates discussed measures to mitigate the impacts of climate change on Vietnam’s development and to increase the country’s competitiveness by shifting to green industries. Le Xuan Ba, Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management says: “It’s essential to ensure sustainable growth by increasing our use of modern science and technologies, management skills and more effective investment. This will help to increase Vietnam’s competitiveness by economic restructuring and promoting green industries in the near future. Vietnam needs to take climate change into consideration and lessen the damage to the country’s development”.

The delegates also discussed successful green industries around the world and the role the private sector and polices play when developing Vietnam’s green sectors.
