Growing mangrove forests to protect coastline in Ca Mau province
(VOVWORLD) - A campaign to grow mango forests and protect coastline of some Mekong Delta provinces was launched on Saturday in Ca Mau province. Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Ca Mau province People's Committee, the campaign aims to raise people’s awareness on afforestation and coastal protection.

Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said: “The campaign is an opportunity for us to improve our awareness on protecting mangrove forests and coastal areas and understanding of their values and interests. Protecting biodiversity and coastal ecosystem is a practical activity. We hope the campaign will be replicated to other coastal localities, particularly Mekong Delta provinces.”
