(VOVWORLD) - The Hamas Islamic movement on Tuesday handed over financial control of border gates to the Palestine National Authority (PNA).

This was the first step to prepare for the official handover of crossing points to the Palestinian government on Wednesday. A delegation representing the PNA-affiliated Bank of Palestine arrived at the Rafah crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt to takeover the collection of taxes and customs fees.
