The National newspaper in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday quoted sources as saying that Israeli negotiators had informed Egyptian and Qatari mediators that Tel Aviv remains committed to implementing the proposals put forth by US President Trump’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. However, Israel did not discuss a permanent ceasefire or the withdrawal of its forces from Gaza.

In other developments in the region, the US military continued airstrikes on Houthi bases in Yemen on the same day.

Meanwhile, US President Trump announced that he may visit the Middle East in May, with planned stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. During the visit, the US is expected to sign an investment agreement worth over 1 trillion USD with Saudi Arabia. Similar agreements will be made with Qatar and the UAE, though specific details have yet to be disclosed.
