Hamas has blamed the Palestinian Authority for being late paying salaries to Hamas employees in Gaza and lack of responsibility in easing Israel’s pressure on Hamas and in the Gaza reconstruction.
Hamas called for an emergency commission in charge of the Gaza Strip, but faced strong opposition from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP). The two groups said the move will only deepen the disagreement between Hamas and Fatah and will impede international aid to the Gaza Strip. The two groups also agreed to form a commission in charge of national reconciliation with Fatah.
