Elsewhere, Honolulu-Oahu in the US topped the list of best winter vacations. While temperatures drop in other parts of the world, the capital of Hawaii remains comfortable, with average highs in the low to mid-80s (°F), according to the website.

The other destinations that made the top five include Sydney, Australia; Lucerne, Switzerland; the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador; and St. Lucia in the eastern Caribbean.
