(VOVworld) – International day of solidarity with the Palestinian people was marked in Hanoi on Tuesday. Chairman of the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with Palestinian People Ho Anh Dung said the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Palestine has been an important foundation for the two countries to push ahead with economic and trade links over the last 50 years. Both nations have great potential for development cooperation, particularly in politics, economics, and tourism, he said, adding that the two sides have signed agreements on double taxation avoidance and investment protection and encouragement. Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government and people for supporting Palestine in its fight for justice for decades.

He said that Vietnam’s solidarity and friendship with Palestine have brought their bilateral relations closer despite their geographical distance. The event was jointly held by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with Palestinian People, and the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association.
