During a working session with municipal officials in Hanoi on Thursday, five US firms described emergency communication-related challenges facing Hanoi and detailed an integrated emergency information center.
Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung said the building an e-government and a smart city are high priorities for Hanoi. Municipal authorities want to establish a database center with eight functions, including coordinating a shared-network system for the whole city and a system for land management. Mr Chung called on the US Trade and Development Agency and the US Embassy in Vietnam to connect Hanoi with leading US technology firms, and promote their involvement in efforts to make Hanoi a smart city.
