Local residents were asked to declare their health status. Task forces must be on duty around the clock.
Mr. Chung called on all districts to review their resources to be ready for the coronavirus scenarios presented by the Steering Committee. That includes organizing isolation quickly, detecting individuals with symptoms of cough and fever, and requiring health declarations and home isolation for anyone arriving from outside Vietnam.
The Hanoi People's Committee has decided to establish two more quarantine areas which can accommodate 2,800 people returning to Vietnam from coronavirus hot spots. Hanoi is expected to quarantine more than 10,000 citizens returning from abroad.
Mr. Chung recommended that Hanoians remain at home and avoid crowded places until the end of this month.
